The Portuguese firm Pbbr announced the strengthening of its Tax practice with the addition of Joana Marques Alves. The lawyer, who comes from RFF, joins the firm as a senior associate.
According to Tânia Ferreira Osório, partner at pbbr: “Joana’s addition is part of a strategy to strengthen an essential area for pbbr, responding to the needs of our clients, who are facing increasingly complex tax frameworks.” She emphasized that “we are very pleased to have Joana on board and are confident that her arrival will bring significant added value.”
Before joining the firm, Joana Marques Alves was the private clients team coordinator (tax and immigration area) at RFF, where she worked for about seven years. Her professional career began at Caiado Guerreiro, where she was an intern and, subsequently, an associate between 2016 and 2019.
Joana Marques Alves holds a law degree and a master’s degree in Law and Management from the Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon School). She also has a postgraduate specialization in Tax Law from IDEFF – Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
She is currently a guest professor in the course “Tax Aspects Related to International Mobility” at NOVA School of Law, organized in conjunction with JurisNOVA.
