Greenberg Traurig has recruited talent from Holland & Knight to expand its financial and capital markets services offering in Mexico. The firm has welcomed Guillermo Uribe Lara and Adrián Gay Lasa as shareholders, while Jorge González and Carlos Guijarro join as associates.
Marc Rossel, co-head of Greenberg Traurig’s Latin America practice, commented that “this team brings exceptional experience in capital markets and finance, significantly enhancing our offering in the country and the region. Their addition further strengthens our platform and allows us to deliver even greater value to clients operating in these dynamic sectors.”
“We are honored to be part of Greenberg Traurig’s Latin American practice,” added Uribe Lara. “We look forward to further strengthening the firm’s client service capabilities and extending the benefits of a global platform to our clients worldwide.”
José Raz Guzmán, co-managing partner of the Mexico office, stated that the appointments coincided with the firm’s 15th anniversary in Mexico City and reflect its “continued strategic growth in Mexico and throughout Latin America, while further strengthening its capabilities in key practice areas that are fundamental to its clients.”
Uribe Lara, Gay Lasa, and González are leaving Holland & Knight after twelve years with the firm, having previously worked together at DLA Piper and Thompson & Knight, Holland & Knight’s predecessor. Guijarro, who began his legal career in 2021 at SMPS Legal, is leaving Holland & Knight after two years with the firm.
Collectively, the team advises Mexican and foreign financial institutions, sponsors, companies and investors on capital markets, banking and securities law, structured finance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and corporate matters in the hospitality, real estate, financial services and infrastructure sectors.
