Mattos Filho announced the promotion of six lawyers to partner, a move that reflects the firm’s continued growth and reinforces its excellence in providing comprehensive service to clients across various sectors of the economy. Four of those promoted are women. This brings the firm’s total number of partners to 144.
The promotions reflect the impact of recent regulatory changes, particularly tax reform, the resumption of mergers and acquisitions, and the increase in litigation. They also encompass areas with growing demand for legal advice, such as asset management and highly complex matters in the real estate and energy sectors. In total, the new partners are integrated into six different practice areas and are based in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
In the last three years, 60% of promotions were due to women, reflecting Mattos Filho’s commitment to developing female leaders and promoting equal opportunities.
“By promoting internally trained talent, we create opportunities and contribute to the long-term viability of our business by developing new leaders. We also strengthen our capacity for integrated and collaborative action to offer increasingly strategic service in key business areas. In this cycle, the majority of those promoted are women, demonstrating our firm commitment to gender equality,” stated Pedro Whitaker de Souza Dias, managing partner of Mattos Filho.
The new partners are:
- Barbara Carnevalli, from the Infrastructure and Energy practice in São Paulo;
- Luciana Cordeiro, from the São Paulo Tax area;
- Luis Bologna, from the Corporate/M&A practice in São Paulo;
- Marcela Freire, from the Real Estate Business practice in São Paulo;
- Pedro Falcone, from the Department of Asset Management, Family and Succession of São Paulo;
- Vanessa Frota, from the Litigation and Arbitration department of Rio de Janeiro.
