Fieldfisher continues to drive its growth in Spain with the addition of Ignacio Corujo as the new partner in charge of the Capital Markets practice, a new specialty that expands the firm’s range of practice areas and strengthens its position in advising companies, financial institutions and investors.
The creation of this new practice responds to the firm’s strategic commitment to offer comprehensive advice on complex financial transactions, incorporating a highly complementary discipline to its consolidated Banking and Finance practice and closely linked to the areas of Corporate M&A, Commercial, Tax and Regulatory.
Ignacio Corujo has over 20 years of experience in capital markets, both equities and fixed income, gained at leading national and international law firms. Throughout his career, he has advised major companies and financial institutions on initial public offerings (IPOs), capital increases, domestic and international debt issuances, EMTN and ECP programs, project bonds, convertible bonds, and other capital markets financing transactions. He also has extensive experience advising listed companies on corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
With this addition, Fieldfisher expands its capabilities to support national and international clients throughout the entire capital markets access cycle, offering specialized advice fully integrated with the firm’s other business areas.
In the words of Ignacio Corujo, “I am joining Fieldfisher with great enthusiasm to lead the creation of the Capital Markets practice in Spain, leveraging the firm’s strength and recognized positioning in the Spanish market, its strong international presence, and the excellent caliber of its professionals. This project will allow us to continue offering an even more comprehensive and specialized service to our clients. I am grateful for the trust placed in me and I am committed to continuing to add value to this new chapter.”
For their part, Rodrigo Martos and Talmac Bel, managing partners of Fieldfisher Spain, emphasized that “Ignacio’s arrival represents a very important step in our growth strategy. With the creation of the Capital Markets practice, we are strengthening our ability to offer comprehensive advice on complex financial transactions and expanding a service offering that is highly complementary to our Banking and Finance practice. We are convinced that his experience, his deep market knowledge, and his track record advising companies and financial institutions will bring enormous value to both our clients and Fieldfisher’s growth project in Spain. His arrival also reflects our firm commitment to continue attracting top-tier talent and consolidating an increasingly specialized, international firm, prepared to support our clients in their most strategic challenges.”
A year of strategic growth
The addition of Ignacio Corujo is part of Fieldfisher’s growth strategy in Spain throughout 2026. In recent months, the firm has significantly strengthened its team with the addition of Rafael Durán and Carlos Blanco as Corporate M&A partners. It has also promoted Javier Fuentes de la Tienda to partner status in Corporate M&A, and Antonio Delgado to partner in International Arbitration.
These appointments reflect Fieldfisher’s continued commitment to attracting and developing top-level talent, strengthening its strategic areas, and further consolidating a multidisciplinary advisory offering capable of responding to the needs of companies and investors in an increasingly complex economic and regulatory environment.
