The Ecuadorian law firm Pérez Bustamante & Ponce (PBP) announced the addition of four new partners: María Isabel Aillón Vásconez, Andrés Brown Pérez, José David Ortiz Custodio, and Patricio Quevedo Vergara.
“Each of them stands out for their high level of leadership, teamwork, and commitment to PBP and its objectives,” the firm, which has offices in Quito and Guayaquil, said in a statement. It added that “with these recent promotions, PBP welcomes 2024 reaffirming its commitment to talent development, diversity, and corporate social responsibility.”

María Isabel Aillón Vásconez advises investors on concessions, investment structuring, and mining regulations, representing clients before the country's authorities. She founded the Ecuadorian chapter of Women in Mining, an association that aims to create opportunities for women in the sector, and of which she is currently president.
Andrés Brown Pérez is a member of PBP's M&A team and is admitted to practice in Spain and New York, as well as Ecuador. He advises local and international clients on acquisitions, joint ventures, asset acquisitions, and equity purchases, among other complex corporate matters.
José David Ortiz Custodio leads PBP's constitutional law practice and has been involved in complex litigation in constitutional, civil, and commercial law for both local and international clients. He has appeared before the country's Constitutional Court representing clients in cases of breach of contract and unconstitutionality.
Patricio Quevedo Vergara is an expert in conflict resolution and regulatory matters, advising clients in arbitration disputes, both locally and internationally, as well as in civil, commercial, and administrative litigation. His work spans a variety of industries, from energy, food, and consumer goods to infrastructure, medicine, and education.
