CMS Portugal has appointed four new coordinating members. These are André Gaspar, in charge of tax; André Guimarães, in charge of Corporate M&A; and Sofia Costa Lobo and Tiago de Magalhães, in charge of employment, labor, and pensions.
“The appointment of these four lawyers as coordinating members reflects the recognition of the professional merit that has characterized their careers and perfectly exemplifies what it means to be a CMS lawyer: to be committed to one’s career and to offer excellent work to clients who deserve their trust,” said José Luís Arnaut, managing partner of CMS Portugal.
André Gaspar focuses his practice on tax litigation, advising on audits and tax proceedings at the administrative, judicial, arbitral, constitutional, and European levels. In his professional capacity, he represents clients before the Spanish Tax Agency and the courts, and provides legal assistance in related matters, particularly concerning indirect taxes and personal income tax.
André Guimarães works primarily in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and private equity, advising on transactions involving the acquisition and sale of companies, corporate restructuring and the structuring of companies both nationally and internationally.
Sofia Costa Lobo has played a prominent role in labor law advice on mergers and acquisitions, specializing in business transfers and due diligence.
Tiago de Magalhães is a member of the ESG Working Group team, where he has been developing and advising on national and international projects focused on salary transparency and fairness in remuneration.
