Cescon Barrieu announces new partners for mergers and acquisitions and taxation

By Heidi Maldonado

Cescon Barrieu announced the expansion of its team with the addition of two new partners: Aline Pardi (corporate law and mergers and acquisitions) and Érico Pilatti (taxation and capital markets).

This move reflects the firm’s growth cycle and its commitment to offering highly complex technical solutions with an intelligence center vision, a relevant strategic partner for the architecture of its clients’ businesses.

“These new hires reflect our search for professionals who, in addition to technical excellence, possess the collaborative and intelligence-driven vision that defines Cescon Barrieu. We are combining regulatory and tax expertise with the strength of mergers and acquisitions to offer a comprehensive service truly focused on the client’s business,” stated Alexandre Barreto, managing partner of Cescon Barrieu.

Consolidation in mergers and acquisitions

To further strengthen its Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice, the firm has added Aline Pardi to its team. With over 15 years of experience handling highly complex transactions, Aline specializes in mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and corporate law, advising Brazilian and international companies on domestic and cross-border transactions involving capital structures and corporate reorganizations. In the area of mergers and acquisitions, Aline focuses on strategic sector-specific deals, particularly in sectors such as energy, data centers, mining, retail, and technology. Her addition represents a step toward deepening the firm’s sector-specific expertise in complex mergers and acquisitions.

Tax intelligence and market regulation

In a significant step towards strengthening and expanding the tax practice, Érico Pilatti joins the firm with the aim of consolidating Cescon Barrieu’s leading position in the financial and capital markets. The new partner brings unique experience from nearly two decades at B3 (and, previously, at BM&FBOVESPA), where he led major transactions in the Brazilian capital markets. His practice focuses on advisory and litigation matters, with a strong specialization in tax issues related to the financial system’s infrastructure, the financial and capital markets, and their regulation, maintaining direct communication with the CVM (Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission), the Central Bank, the Brazilian Tax Agency, and market associations.

These additions reinforce Cescon Barrieu’s strategy of offering an increasingly cross-cutting and multidisciplinary service to clients, in addition to its internationalization focus.
