Trench Rossi Watanabe announced the promotion of seven of its lawyers to the corporate staff. These are Adam Milgrom, André Provedel, Carla Moraes, João Brandão, Munique Isoppo, Paulo Carvalho and Rafael Disposti.
The promotions include professionals with established careers at the firm. Adam Milgrom strengthens the firm’s work in energy, infrastructure, mining, and regulated projects; Carla Moraes strengthens the Public and Regulatory Law practice, with a focus on Life Sciences; João Brandão, based in the Rio de Janeiro office, and Munique Isoppo expand the firm’s work in M&A, private equity, venture capital, corporate law, and commercial contracts; and Rafael Disposti strengthens the Banking, Financial Transactions, and Capital Markets team. André Provedel, also based in the Rio de Janeiro office, joins the firm in the IPTech group, focusing on intellectual property, trademarks and technology, and Paulo Carvalho becomes a partner in the Tax group, focusing on taxation of remuneration.

With this expansion, Trench Rossi Watanabe’s corporate structure now includes 66 partners, distributed among the offices in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Porto Alegre.

Adam Milgrom, partner in the Energy group, joined the firm in 2008 and works on large transactions involving electricity, gas, mining, and infrastructure projects. His work in each of the regulated sectors encompasses M&A (structuring and developing projects, coordinating legal due diligence, and drafting and negotiating transactional and corporate agreements), Contract Law (drafting and negotiating project-specific contracts), and Public and Regulatory Law (preparing legal opinions and assisting with tenders and privatizations). He specializes in electricity sector regulation and previously worked at Baker McKenzie’s Chicago office on electricity and infrastructure projects.
Carla Moraes, partner in Public and Regulatory Law, specializing in Life Sciences, joined the firm in 2012. She practices Public and Regulatory Law, focusing on Life Sciences. She advises clients, particularly in the health and sanitation sector, before agencies such as Anvisa (Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency), the National Ethics Commission for Research, the Chamber for the Regulation of the Drug Market, the Ministry of Agriculture, State Health Secretariats, and municipal health oversight bodies.
João Brandão, partner in M&A, Corporate and Venture Capital, and Capital Markets, joined the firm in 2014 as an intern in the transactional practice and returned to Trench Rossi Watanabe in 2023 as a senior associate. He has experience in complex corporate transactions, including initial public offerings, M&A deals involving publicly traded and privately held companies, investment rounds, private equity, venture capital, and capital markets.
Munique Isoppo, partner in M&A, Corporate and Venture Capital: she joined the firm in 2018 and is part of the Transactional group, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and commercial contracts in national and multi-jurisdictional projects. She has experience in coordinating due diligence processes, corporate restructurings, drafting and negotiating contracts related to corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, asset sales and joint ventures, as well as corporate documents and commercial contracts in various industry segments, especially technology, carbon markets, services and consumer goods.
Rafael Disposti, partner in Banking Law, Financial Transactions, and Capital Markets, joined the firm in 2020 and is part of the Transactional group, focusing on Banking Law, Financial Transactions, and Capital Markets. He has extensive experience advising banks, financial institutions, multinational corporations, publicly traded companies, private equity funds, and investors on financial and banking law transactions, as well as debt and securitization transactions in the local and international capital markets.
André Provedel, partner in the IPTech group, joined Trench Rossi Watanabe in 2016 and works within the IPTech group. He specializes in trademark protection and enforcement, focusing on managing large portfolios with a global presence. He advises on availability and registration strategies, leads disputes before the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), and acts as a strategic consultant on pre-litigation and litigation matters. He also works on copyright protection, trademark licensing, domain name disputes, unfair competition practices, intellectual property asset negotiations, and other related transactional matters.
Paulo Carvalho, partner in the Tax group, joined the firm in 2008 and is part of the Tax group, focusing on payroll taxation. He has experience in pension contributions, personal income tax, expense deductibility, strategic compensation, stock options plans, expatriation, and private pension plans, in both advisory and litigation roles. He is also part of the Global Pensions group, in cooperation with offices in the Baker McKenzie network, and participates annually in the Baker McKenzie Global Pensions Annual Meeting.
