In this second installment , we continue with the law firms in Colombia that were recognized in the 2024 ranking in the areas of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), banking and finance, and restructuring and insolvency.
Brigard Urrutia was recognized as a leader in the highest category in all three practice areas. DLA Piper Martinez Beltrán excels in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and restructuring and insolvency. Meanwhile, Gómez-Pinzón, Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría and Posse Herrera stand out in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and banking and finance.
Cuberos Cortés Gutiérrez, Gallo Medina and Holland & Knight receive the highest recognition in the area of restructuring and insolvency.
After “leader”, there is the “excellent” category, among the recognized firms is Baker McKenzie in both mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and banking and finance, with partner Jaime Trujillo categorized as “excellent” in both areas.
Other “excellent” firms include Dentons Cárdenas & Cárdenas in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and banking and finance practices. Attorney Eduardo Cárdenas Caballero was recognized in both of these areas.
Lloreda Camacho and Muñoz Tamayo & Asociados ranked highly in mergers and acquisitions (M&A); CMS Rodríguez – Azuero was rated “excellent” in banking and finance and restructuring and insolvency. DLA Piper Martinez Beltrán and Garrigues Colombia were rated “excellent” in banking and finance, while Isaza Abogados, Rivera Andrade Estudio Jurídico, and UVP&A Legal were rated “excellent” in restructuring and insolvency.
In the "well-known" category for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), the firms CMS Rodríguez – Azuero, Garrigues Colombia, and Holland & Knight stand out, with Holland & Knight also ranking highly in banking and finance. Garrigues Colombia, BBGS Abogados Colombia, Muñoz AYÁ, Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría, and Posse Herrera Ruiz were classified as "well-known" in restructuring and insolvency.
In the “recognized practice” category for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) the firms BBGS Abogados Colombia, Cuatrecasas, Godoyhoyos_GOH, Brick Abogados and Pinilla González & Prieto were ranked, and for banking and finance the recognition was won by Cuatrecasas, Godoyhoyos_GOH, Esguerra Asesores Jurídicos and Lloreda Camacho.
Finally, the ranking highlighted the category of “quality practice” only for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) with the firms Ecija Colombia, EY Colombia and Esguerra Asesores Jurídicos, among others, remaining in the ranking.
