The international law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has strengthened its Madrid office with the addition of Marta González-Llera as a partner in the Real Estate and Projects practice. With this appointment, Marta González becomes the ninth partner to join the firm since opening its Madrid offices.

Marta González-Llera is a lawyer specializing in real estate, with over 15 years of experience in real estate and urban planning law. Throughout her career, she has advised funds, developers, and investors throughout the entire development cycle, from acquisition to asset management. She joins the firm from Cases Lacambra, where she led the real estate practice.

Juan Oñate Dancausa, managing partner of Stephenson Harwood in Madrid, stated that “Marta’s reputation as a top-tier legal advisor precedes her. Her knowledge and experience will be a very valuable asset to our team, and she also shares our practical and business-oriented approach to working with clients. We are delighted to welcome Marta to the team.”

This opening strengthens the firm's presence in Europe and expands its capacity to advise national and international clients with interests in Spain. The office is a key element in the firm's growth strategy and its ambition to become a leading firm in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Stephenson Harwood's Madrid office boasts a team of lawyers with complementary profiles and experience, combining top-tier capabilities in corporate and financial transactions with a robust litigation and arbitration practice and an initial focus on sectors such as private equity, funds, and energy transition and infrastructure, in line with the firm's international strategy. The team has extensive experience in M&A, tax, real estate, finance, restructurings and insolvencies, special situations, and litigation.

Marta joins a team of partners that includes Juan Oñate, managing partner and head of Restructuring, Insolvency and Special Situations; Jesús Almoguera, Carlos González and Eduardo Vázquez de Prada, who strengthen the litigation and arbitration practice; Carmen Alonso in Corporate/M&A and restructuring; Antonio Caneva in banking and finance; Elena Oñoro in tax and international arbitration; and José Ramón Vizcaíno in tax.
