RSM, a global firm providing audit, legal, tax, consulting, and corporate finance services, continues to expand its offerings and incorporate new strategic specializations. Within its consulting services, the firm is launching a new specialty, RegTech, led by partner Óscar López. This new practice addresses one of the major challenges organizations currently face: advancing digitalization and artificial intelligence while ensuring control, security, and regulatory compliance.
Digitalization and the rapid integration of artificial intelligence are transforming how companies operate and opening up new possibilities for improving their processes. This evolution brings with it new demands in terms of governance, security, traceability, and regulatory compliance, making it necessary to address technological transformation from an increasingly cross-cutting perspective.
The new RegTech practice emerges in this context and brings together four areas of specialization under a single approach: digital transformation of companies, intelligence and intelligence governance (RIA), regulatory compliance management and governance, and cybersecurity and legal resilience. Parallel progress in these four areas is essential for companies to confidently pursue their transformation plans, from designing their operating model to implementing and continuously monitoring their processes.
RegTech’s approach thus stems from a vision in which transformation and control advance together. As technology acquires a more relevant role in processes and decision-making, so does the need to establish governance models capable of providing security, traceability, and trust.
“Digital transformation can no longer be understood solely as a technological issue. The incorporation of automation and artificial intelligence requires us to also consider governance, security, compliance, and traceability. RegTech was created precisely to integrate these dimensions and address them together,” said Óscar López, partner at RSM and head of the new area.
For RSM, the creation of this practice is also part of the incorporation of new specialties capable of responding to the evolving needs of companies and complementing the knowledge of the firm’s various areas.
According to José María Gassó, president of RSM, “companies are facing transformations that increasingly require a multidisciplinary approach. Technology opens up new possibilities, but it also poses regulatory, legal, and management challenges that must be addressed in a coordinated manner. This new area will allow us to provide a more comprehensive perspective on the challenges our clients face.”
With the launch of RegTech, RSM adds to its consulting services a new specialization in the convergence of technology and regulation, reinforcing a multidisciplinary vision that connects digital transformation, compliance, risk management and legal knowledge.
