Pinheiro Neto Lawyer has added André Soares de Freitas Bueno as a consultant in its Energy practice.
André was the local legal head of Australian conglomerate Fortescue. He is known for his solid track record of leadership in complex legal and commercial initiatives in the renewable energy sector. As legal director of multi-billion-dollar energy platforms in Brazil, he led projects in commercial-scale generation (hydroelectric, wind, solar, biomass, and gas-fired thermal), renewable energy (green hydrogen and biogas), energy trading, distributed generation, and transmission infrastructure.
His portfolio also includes drafting legislative proposals aimed at reforming the Brazilian electricity sector and a new regulatory framework for green hydrogen, as well as coordinating the entire cycle, from licensing to commissioning, of several projects involving solar assets.
The arrival of André Bueno is in line with the firm’s strategy to play a central role in the expansion of clean energy alternatives in Brazil and to help clients develop technologies and investments that will shape the next phase of the country’s energy transition.
