Brazilian law firm Pinheiro Guimarães announced the promotion of seven lawyers to the firm, strengthening its Financial and Capital Markets, Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions, Litigation and Arbitration, Restructuring and Insolvency, and Tax practice areas. The new partners Frederico Pedrinha Mocarzel, Julia Maira Benvenuto, Nicholas Walter de Sousa, and Ranna da Cunha Frota Vianna are based in the Rio de Janeiro office, and Larissa Taveira, Luiza Furtado, and Thiago Paranho Neves are based in the São Paulo office.

Frederico Mocarzel joined the firm in 2011 and works in the areas of restructuring and insolvency, and litigation and arbitration. He handles complex disputes, insolvency proceedings, and large-scale debt restructurings, focusing on representing creditors in judicial and extrajudicial reorganizations, bankruptcies, liquidations, and cross-border insolvency cases. Frederico holds a law degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Niterói (2013).
Júlia Benvenuto is a lawyer specializing in financial and capital markets. She has been with the firm since 2010 and her work includes advising financial institutions, government and multilateral development agencies, sponsors, and corporate borrowers on domestic and international financing transactions, as well as on derivative transactions and public and private debt issuances, in addition to structuring and issuing investment fund shares.
Larissa Taveira is a tax law specialist, specializing in strategic tax consulting. She has extensive experience in complex matters, such as structuring mergers and acquisitions and capital market transactions, as well as assessing and managing tax risks and contingencies. Larissa joined the firm in 2021, playing a key role in the tax consulting team.
Luiza Furtado has been a member of Pinheiro Guimarães since 2010, having developed a solid career focused on financial and capital markets, covering equity and fixed income transactions. She advises financial institutions, companies, and investors on strategic matters, including equity and debt offerings, as well as domestic and international debt restructurings. Her experience includes public and private securities offerings in Brazil, international bond issues, highly complex syndicated financing, structuring of sophisticated guarantee packages, and restructurings involving bond issues in capital markets and debt-to-equity conversion transactions.
Nicholas Walter de Sousa joined the firm in 2012 and his practice focuses on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, with extensive experience in structuring and negotiating highly complex transactions. He also advises clients on corporate governance and regulatory matters.
Ranna da Cunha Frota Mello Vianna has been a member of Pinheiro Guimarães since 2013, where she works in the areas of capital markets and corporate law, specializing in structured transactions and securitization. She regularly advises clients on the structuring of financial transactions, especially those involving public offerings and private placements of securities.
Thiago Paranhos Neves specializes in highly complex tax matters and has been with the firm since 2021. He represents clients in complex and innovative tax litigation, both administratively and judicially. He holds a law degree from Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo (2014).
