Pérez-Llorca announced the addition of Cristina Vergueiro as senior international counsel to the Corporate team at its Lisbon office. Vergueiro comes from one of the largest and most renowned private equity and infrastructure managers in Latin America, where she served as managing director and general counsel.
According to Gonçalo Capela Godinho, country chair of Pérez-Llorca in Portugal: “Cristina brings a deep understanding of the private equity industry and the dynamics of infrastructure investments. Her experience will enable us to offer our clients solid legal solutions for complex M&A transactions and project development in critical sectors such as energy, transportation, and logistics.”

Throughout his career, he has been involved in all phases of the investment cycle: fund structuring, capital raising, investment and divestment operations, as well as monitoring and developing portfolio companies. Her experience includes defining governance, risk management, and compliance models in sectors such as logistics, energy, transportation, and pharmaceuticals in various Latin American markets, in addition to her work in crisis management and arbitration. She has also served on the board of directors of several portfolio companies.
Vergueiro holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo Law School and is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association.
This addition strengthens Pérez-Llorca’s ability to support clients—both organizations and private clients—in cross-border transactions, contributing to the firm’s international reach, with a special focus on projects involving Portuguese-speaking and Latin American markets, especially Brazil.
