Pérez-Llorca has incorporated Felipe Suescún de Roa as a new partner in Colombia. He joins the firm to strengthen its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, one of its key areas in the country.

“The addition of Felipe as a partner significantly bolsters our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Colombia. His experience in complex arbitrations and his track record in high-impact cases align perfectly with Pérez-Llorca’s vision of providing sophisticated advice on the most relevant matters for our clients,” stated Mauricio Piñeros, Country Chair for Colombia at Pérez-Llorca.

More about Suescún de Roa

He brings over 20 years of professional experience, with extensive expertise in domestic and international arbitrations, conflict resolution, and business law. Throughout his career, he has participated in complex arbitrations across various jurisdictions, seats, and applicable laws, including Argentina, Colombia, France, Mexico, New York, Switzerland, and the UNIDROIT Principles, primarily under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB).

He is widely recognized in Colombia and Latin America as a leader in his practice area by various independent rankings, guides, directories, and publications, such as Legal 500, Chambers & Partners, Latin Lawyer, and Lexology, among others.

He holds a Law degree and a specialization in Commercial Law from Universidad de los Andes. Suescún de Roa also earned an LL.M. from Georgetown University. Academically, he has served as a professor of Obligations, Civil Liability, and Business Law at Universidad de los Andes, as well as Arbitration and Corporations in courses offered by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and the Superintendencia de Sociedades.

Additionally, he is the author of Tratado de Derecho de Daños en los Contratos, published in 2025, and Deberes y Responsabilidad Civil de los Administradores de Sociedades in 2021—both edited by Tirant lo Blanch—as well as numerous academic articles in national and international specialized journals.

This incorporation comes just days after Pérez-Llorca announced globally the appointment of 12 new partners and 5 counsels, including Colombian lawyers Paola Valderrama and María Camila Parra, further confirming the firm’s growth and expansion in Colombia.
