Milbank announced that Thomas Sines has joined its New York office as a partner in the firm’s Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. Sines joins from Paul Hastings, where he was a partner in the Corporate Department.
“We are delighted to welcome Thomas to Milbank,” said Scott Edelman, chairman of Milbank. “Thomas is highly regarded as an excellent, collaborative, and versatile advisor, and his extensive experience in three of our core practice areas—Latin America, digital infrastructure, and energy—will further strengthen our offering across the board.”
Sines’ practice focuses on all types of energy and infrastructure financing, including project finance, debt capital markets, bank financing, and corporate transactions. He regularly represents sponsors and all types of lenders in many of the most complex transactions in the digital infrastructure and energy and infrastructure sectors in the United States and Latin America.
“Thomas will further strengthen our regional platform, where we are consistently recognized as the leading international law firm advising on the most transformative transactions in the region, and will play an important role in developing our national energy and digital infrastructure practices,” said Dan Bartfeld, member of the Executive Committee and chair of the firm’s Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. “Thomas’ arrival also follows the official launch of our Digital Infrastructure Practice Group, and his proven expertise in advising on complex digital infrastructure financings and developments will be a tremendous asset to our team and our clients.”
“I have long admired Milbank’s platform and its lawyers, with whom I already have an excellent professional relationship. It is very exciting to join the firm at a time when demand for energy and infrastructure projects is growing steadily around the world, especially in the area of digital infrastructure,“ said Sines. ”I look forward to working closely with the team to continue advising our clients on the most important transactions in the market.”
