Mexican firm Basham Ringe y Correa strengthens its Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions practice with a new partner

Basham, Ringe y Correa announced the expansion of its corporate and mergers and acquisitions practice with the addition of Carlos Eduardo Gómez González as a partner in the firm’s Mexico City office.

“Carlos’s extensive experience in sophisticated mergers and acquisitions and complex financing transactions will be a valuable addition to the firm,” said Amílcar Peredo, partner at Basham, Ringe y Correa. “His arrival strengthens our Corporate M&A and Finance practices and reaffirms the firm’s position as a market leader in these areas.”

He is a lawyer specializing in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and structured finance, with over fifteen years of experience. Throughout his career, he has advised institutional investors, financial institutions, multinational companies, and private equity funds on domestic and international transactions.

His corporate practice includes advising on acquisitions, investments, and strategic alliances in sectors such as insurance, education, consumer goods, and real estate. He has also participated in the formation of joint ventures and significant acquisitions both in Mexico and abroad. In the financial sector, Carlos has advised on syndicated loans, debt issuances, and other complex structures, including transactions carried out under Rule 144A and Regulation S in the United States. He has represented both lenders and borrowers in structuring various credit facilities.

Carlos is a graduate of the Free Law School of Monterrey, holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of California, Berkeley with a specialization in corporate law, and currently serves as the coordinator of the Financial and Securities Law Commission of the Mexican Bar Association. Before joining the firm, he worked as counsel at Garrigues and previously at Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes.
