Garrigues has reinforced its Zaragoza office with the appointment of Juan Grangel as a partner to lead the Labour Law practice in Aragon. The appointment remains subject to ratification by the next partners’ meeting.
Grangel brings an extensive track record spanning labour law, employment regulatory compliance and the prevention of labour fraud, built across careers in both the public and private sectors.
His public sector background includes roles as a labour and social security inspector in La Rioja and Madrid, head of the Occupational Safety and Health Unit at the Provincial Labour and Social Security Inspectorate of La Rioja, and team leader at the General Sub-Directorate responsible for the Inspection of Social Security, the Undeclared Economy and Immigration. Between 2018 and 2020, he served as Director of the National Anti-Fraud Office (Oficina Nacional Antifraude), during which time he sat on the Board of Directors of the European Labour Authority and represented Spain on the European Platform against Undeclared Work.
A law graduate of the University of Zaragoza, Grangel advises on labour and social security law, combining technical depth with a strategic focus on risk management and business decision-making.
The appointment reflects Garrigues’ continued strategic commitment to Aragon. The firm’s Zaragoza office has advised across all areas of business law for over 30 years.
