Global law firm Hogan Lovells Cadwalader announced the addition of former U.S. Ambassador Julissa Reynoso, whose practice focuses on government and congressional investigations, as a partner in the Disputes practice in New York.
Reynoso was the United States ambassador to Spain and Andorra during the Biden Administration and became the first woman to hold the position.

Previously, in the Biden White House, she served as assistant to the president and chief of staff to the first lady, Jill Biden, and as co-chair of the White House Gender Policy Council. During the Obama administration, she was U.S. ambassador to Uruguay and deputy assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere Affairs. Reynoso joins Hogan Lovells Cadwalader from another international law firm, where she built a significant professional practice.
Reynoso advises institutions, companies, and individuals on high-profile government investigations, including those before Congress. He also advises clients on crisis management and handles enforcement proceedings, cross-border litigation, and international arbitration, including proceedings under ICC and UNCITRAL rules, as well as disputes related to bilateral investment treaties. His practice spans the Americas and Europe, with a strong presence in Latin America and Spain, in sectors such as financial services, energy and infrastructure, technology, media, and telecommunications.
Beyond his legal practice, Reynoso’s commitment to public service extends to his pro bono work and his responsibilities at prominent cultural, educational, and civic institutions. He serves on the boards of Carnegie Hall, Columbia University, and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, and is a member of the American Law Institute and the Council on Foreign Relations. He has also been actively involved in New York State government affairs, serving on the transition teams of New York State Attorney General Letitia James, Mayor Zohran Mamdani, and City Comptroller Mark Levine.
Reynoso joins Hogan Lovells Cadwalader amid continued investment following its recent merger. Since July 1, the firm has added approximately 20 professionals from other firms worldwide, including partners and senior lawyers.
