Ejaso strengthens its position in the energy sector with the addition of Ignacio Blanco Pérez as a partner in the Corporate Law practice at its Madrid office. The lawyer joins the firm from Andersen in Spain, where he had served as director of the Corporate Law Department since November 2019, leading strategic transactions in the renewable energy sector.
The addition reflects Ejaso’s commitment to consolidating its business practice in one of the sectors with the greatest investment dynamism and regulatory transformation in recent years: energy.
Ignacio Blanco has extensive experience in M&A and private equity transactions involving wind, photovoltaic, hydrogen projects and energy storage systems, with experience in transactions carried out in Spain, Colombia, Greece, Costa Rica, Cuba, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, Panama, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Their practice also includes the negotiation of EPC and O&M contracts, the financing and refinancing of renewable energy projects under Project Finance schemes, with extensive experience in advising both developers and financial entities, investment funds and institutional investors.
Ejaso emphasized the strategic nature of the appointment: “Ignacio’s arrival represents a significant leap forward in our commercial practice related to the energy sector. We are adding someone with direct experience in large-scale international transactions and a deep understanding of the renewable energy value chain. The energy sector is a priority for the firm, and this move strengthens our ability to support investors, developers, and financiers at every stage of a project,” stated Manuel González Haba, a board member of Ejaso.
For his part, Ignacio Blanco Pérez highlighted the project’s strength and the firm’s ambitious growth plans: “Ejaso is developing a clear growth strategy in strategic sectors such as energy, combining technical expertise with an international vision. The firm boasts an agile structure, highly qualified teams, particularly in Public Law and Regulated Sectors, with Mario Saez playing a key role, and a genuine capacity to manage complex transactions from start to finish. Joining this project represents an opportunity to further develop a specialized renewables practice that is increasingly cross-cutting and sophisticated, in a context where every day presents a new challenge by providing fully personalized advice based on the specific characteristics of each project and client,” he stated.
With this move, Ejaso continues to reinforce its commitment to attracting senior talent with specific sector experience, consolidating its presence in M&A operations, structured finance and the development of energy projects in an increasingly competitive and globalized environment.
