Rafael holds a master's degree in business law from the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil. He also has specializations in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business from institutions such as George Washington University and ADEN International Business School, as well as in environmental management and environmental impact assessment.
With over 15 years of experience, Rafael has advised national and international companies on environmental compliance, sustainability strategies, and ESG regulations, combining legal risk management with corporate decision-making. His expertise encompasses the environmental regulatory framework, environmental impact management, and the use of incentives for regulatory compliance. He is currently a Climate Fellow with the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship, an international program that brings together leaders in sustainability and climate change.
In addition to his professional practice, Rafael maintains an active role in the academic world as a professor of undergraduate and postgraduate environmental law, environmental compliance and environmental incentives, training new generations of professionals with a legal approach aligned with sustainability.Its role also extends to key international organizations in the legal and environmental fields.
