Ecija has approved its Corporate Sustainable Mobility Plan, becoming the first law firm in Spain to equip itself with a comprehensive instrument for planning and managing mobility, aligned with the new regulatory requirements in matters of sustainability, ecological transition and corporate responsibility.
The approval of the Plan marks a milestone for the legal sector and reflects Ecija’s commitment to a more responsible, innovative, and responsive approach to practicing law, one that addresses major social and environmental challenges. This initiative aligns with the firm’s purpose of anticipating future needs, promoting more sustainable organizational models, and generating a positive impact on its community.
The Plan has been approved after a process of negotiation and dialogue with the representatives of the workers, with the participation of the trade union organizations UGT and CCOO, and represents a pioneering initiative both for its scope and its content.
Mobility is one of the main environmental challenges for professional services organizations, especially in an environment marked by daily commutes to the workplace, business travel, international mobility and the need to provide services in person to clients, public bodies and courts.
Aware of this reality, Ecija has decided to anticipate future regulatory requirements by implementing a comprehensive mobility management model that incorporates specific measures in areas such as optimizing business travel, international mobility, the effective integration of teleworking, road safety, training and awareness of professionals, as well as the promotion of sustainable practices among clients, suppliers and visitors.
The initiative is part of Ecija’s global sustainability strategy and complements other actions already implemented by the firm, including the certification of its Environmental Management System according to the ISO 14001 standard, the calculation and registration of its carbon footprint and the development of corporate policies aimed at reducing the environmental impact of its activity.
During the approval process, the participating trade union organizations highlighted the innovative nature of the project and its potential to become a benchmark for other companies in the service sector.
