Demarest announced the addition of Eduardo Ferreira as a new partner in the Environmental Law practice, at a time when environmental legislation and the socio-environmental agenda are gaining importance as decisive factors for the viability, competitiveness and legal security of new business ventures.
For José Diaz, managing partner of Demarest, Eduardo’s arrival responds to the increasingly complex demands of the business sector, in which preventive, consultative and litigation teams must act in an integrated manner and in close coordination with other areas to support key strategic decisions.

Eduardo Ferreira holds a Master’s degree in Diffuse and Collective Rights from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), a postgraduate specialization in Environmental Law and Strategic Sustainability Management, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the same institution. He has over 25 years of experience in the field, having worked at prominent law firms.
Within the Environmental Law practice, their work will focus primarily on judicial and administrative litigation, as well as advising on socio-environmental matters, in coordination with the other areas of the firm. Their work includes developing pre-litigation strategies—including challenges related to the legality of business operations—as well as negotiating with authorities and regulatory bodies to find mutually agreeable solutions in highly complex situations and managing environmental crises.
