In line with its plan to expand and strengthen strategic areas, Demarest Advogados, one of the largest full-service law firms in Latin America, announced the arrival of Carlos Henrique de Araújo as a new partner in the Capital Markets area.
With a Master of Laws degree from the University of Pennsylvania (United States) and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Mackenzie Presbyterian University, Carlos Henrique has 17 years of experience in the sector, starting his career as a legal intern at the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM).
After working at prominent law firms, he was also a foreign associate at the US firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York. In recent years, he led the legal department of a major asset management firm, managing structured transactions and investment strategies for funds focused on real estate, agriculture, and infrastructure, among other sectors.
His professional experience is characterized by his work in initial public offerings, securitization of receivables, investment funds, and financial restructurings. He also has extensive experience advising national and international companies across various sectors, as well as banks and financial institutions, on fundraising, management, and the development of complex projects.
“With the current high interest rate environment, there is a concrete opportunity for growth in the demand for structured solutions, especially among companies in the so-called middle market, which are seeking alternatives to traditional bank loans,” assessed Carlos Henrique. “This segment requires specialized technical advice to efficiently access capital markets, which opens up space for new business and expands the reach of financial operations in the country to a significant portion of Brazilian companies,” he added.
