Deloitte Legal has strengthened its position in corporate M&A transactions—particularly in the energy, infrastructure and private equity sectors—with the appointment of Alfonso Bayona, Borja Martín and Juan de Navasqüés as partners. The trio joins from Pinsent Masons, reinforcing the leadership of the firm’s Corporate M&A practice.

Alfonso Bayona has over 20 years’ experience advising on international corporate transactions in the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, covering corporate, contractual and financial matters. He is recognised by Chambers & Partners in the Energy & Natural Resources category. He holds a law degree from the University of Alicante, an LL.M. from the University of Namur (Belgium), and a certificate in Business Law, Corporate Finance, Venture Capital and Blockchain for lawyers from the University of California, Berkeley.
Borja Martín specialises in M&A and private equity transactions, as well as acquisition and project development processes in the energy, infrastructure and real estate sectors. He holds a law degree and a diploma in Business Management from CEU San Pablo University, a Master’s in Corporate Legal Advice from IE Business School, and a Master’s in Private Law (Commercial Law) from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Juan de Navasqüés has 15 years’ experience advising domestic and international clients on M&A and private equity transactions, with a particular focus on energy asset acquisitions and all phases of energy projects. He holds a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed the Advanced Management Program at IE Business School.
The Corporate M&A legal team has also been recently strengthened by the addition of Inmaculada Castelló, a lawyer with extensive experience in corporate transactions in the healthcare sector. Deloitte Legal’s M&A team has been recognised as a leader in advisory services by deal volume, according to Mergermarket, TTR and Refinitiv/LSEG.
