Deloitte Legal announced the addition of Paul Handal as a partner to lead its Legaltech practice, a role that strengthens the firm’s Digital Law team to support companies in their digital transformation processes.
Paul Handal has extensive professional experience in the development and implementation of AI tools and legaltech solutions in the day-to-day management of companies’ businesses, process automation, and innovation strategy design, consolidating one of the core practice areas of Deloitte Legal’s new strategic plan.
This move reflects the firm’s commitment to establishing itself as a trusted partner for the legal departments of large companies in the adoption of artificial intelligence tools and new technologies, offering differentiated advice in coordination with the different business capabilities of the global Deloitte firm.

In recent years, Paul Handal has led digital transformation projects for some of the most important companies in Spain and Latin America, involving the development and implementation of technological tools powered by generative artificial intelligence, including autonomous agents, multi-agent systems, and legal reasoning automation.
He has been recognized by Chambers & Partners in Band 1 in the Newlaw practice area globally in the Legal Transformation Consulting category and as one of the Top 10 European legal intrapreneurs by Financial Times Innovative Lawyers.
Paul Handal holds a law degree from the University of Navarra and has completed a master’s degree in Legaltech from IE Law School. He currently teaches Legaltech at IE Law School, the University of Navarra, and the Applied AI & Legaltech Institute.
He is also co-director of the Legaltech laboratory at the University of Valencia and an advisor to the Global Legaltech Hub think tank.
