Clyde & Co has promoted Cristina Pérez Ruiz to partner in its Madrid office, following an eight-year tenure with the firm. The appointment recognizes her career built from within the company and reinforces the team’s commitment to developing technically skilled, specialized professionals with international potential.
Cristina joined Clyde & Co in 2018 as a trainee lawyer, after completing the Master’s Degree in Maritime Business and Law from the Spanish Maritime Institute and Comillas Pontifical University. Since then, she has been part of the Transport team in Madrid, which has allowed her to develop a solid background and experience in maritime, aviation, and regulatory matters.
In Enrique Navarro’s team, Cristina has been involved in highly complex matters related to aviation, maritime, and energy sector claims, as well as projects involving trading, insolvency, and decarbonization. This experience has allowed her to work on operations with a strong technical and cross-border component, coordinating with teams from different jurisdictions.
Furthermore, he has developed a specialized practice advising insurance companies, intermediaries, and market operators on regulatory matters. His expertise encompasses insurance distribution, regulatory compliance, cross-border business models, insurtechs and MGAs, as well as analyzing the impact of new regulatory frameworks on the insurance sector.

Furthermore, she regularly participates in industry forums and meetings, which reinforces her role in disseminating technical knowledge both within and outside the firm.
She is also a member of WISTA, an international association that promotes the visibility and leadership of women in the maritime, trading and transport sectors, and is currently enrolled in the INESE The Next Generation of Women in Insurance Advanced Program.
