International law firm Clyde & Co announced its results for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2026. The firm’s revenue grew by 2% to £857 million, marking its 28th consecutive year of growth. The firm’s profit was £160 million for fiscal year 2025/26.
North America remained the firm’s fastest-growing region, with revenues reaching £237 million, representing 28% of total revenue. The firm first established a presence in North America 20 years ago. The UK continued to be the firm’s largest region, generating 47% of total revenue. The Middle East and Africa accounted for 10%, Europe 7%, Asia Pacific 6%, and Latin America 2%.
The growth rate was impacted by lower trading activity in the Asia-Pacific region following the company’s restructuring in Australia and by adverse conditions in the fourth quarter for the business in the Middle East due to the regional conflict. Growth in other regions ranged from 2% to 11%.
During the year, Clyde & Co added 79 partners through external hires and internal promotions, of which 38 were externally hired and 41 were promoted to partner in the areas of litigation, corporate law and advisory, insurance, aviation, construction, energy and maritime law.
During the year, the firm continued to invest in its global platform, opening three new offices and expanding its worldwide presence to 74 offices in 32 countries.
The firm’s expansion in North America included opening an office in Seattle through a merger with Forsberg & Umlauf PS, thereby strengthening its insurance practice in the United States and establishing litigation and defense services in the Pacific Northwest. Clyde & Co also opened an office in Indianapolis/Northwest Indiana, reinforcing its litigation and defense capabilities in the United States and expanding its insurance offering in the Midwest.
In Europe, the firm opened its doors in Rotterdam through a merger with Stadermann Luiten Advocaten, thus expanding its insurance offering in continental Europe.
Matthew Kelsall, CEO of Clyde & Co, commented that “in a volatile geopolitical and commercial environment, the firm delivered solid revenue performance and continued to make progress in the areas most important to our clients. Our global platform, sector focus, and geographic presence remain key strengths, with North America again posting strong growth and our client relationship strategy gaining traction across all regions and practice groups.”
“We have also continued to invest in expanding our global presence, our talent, our technology, and the way we deliver services. These investments are designed to drive sustainable long-term growth, make us more efficient, better connected, and better prepared to support our clients as they face increasingly complex risks in different markets.”
Carolena Gordon, senior partner at Clyde & Co, said, “The quality of work delivered by our team over the past year has been exceptional. Our clients have faced rapidly evolving political, regulatory, and commercial challenges, and our teams have provided the necessary support thanks to their international reach, industry knowledge, and practical judgment.”
“We are starting the new fiscal year with a clear focus on our client relationships, operational discipline, and continued investment in the capabilities that will allow us to grow sustainably. Our team remains fundamental to this progress, and I want to thank all my colleagues at the firm for their contribution.”
