McCarthy Tétrault opened a new office in Latin America, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of its presence in the region, and in particular in its global metals and mining practice.
The new office, which will be located in Santiago, Chile, formalizes the firm’s presence in Latin America and strengthens its ability to provide support to clients operating throughout the region and the rest of the world.
After more than five years of experience advising international clients and collaborating closely with leading local firms, this office will not practice local law. They will continue to complement their jurisdiction-specific expertise with McCarthy Tétrault’s international track record in complex cross-border matters, particularly in the mining, infrastructure, energy, and electricity sectors.
Shawn Doyle is the managing partner for Latin America. Based in Chile, Shawn has extensive experience in the region, is fluent in Spanish, and has advised multinational companies headquartered in Canada, Latin America, and elsewhere on significant international transactions and investments. For the past several years, he has represented the firm in the region as the senior partner for Latin America.
