ClarkeModet Colombia appointed lawyer and chemist Alexander Agudelo as the new director of Inventions, an area from which the firm provides comprehensive advice on patent protection and management, technology transfer and strategic management of intangible assets.
Agudelo has a career spanning more than 25 years in intellectual property; he has been an examiner for the Colombian Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, a patent director and partner in firms such as Wolf Méndez Abogados and OlarteMoure, in addition to working in pharmaceutical companies such as Merck.

He is a patent attorney with a dual degree, following the American model: on the one hand, he is a Pharmaceutical Chemist from the National University of Colombia, with a Master of Science from the University of Montreal in Canada; in addition, he is a lawyer from the Grancolombiano Polytechnic of Colombia.
He maintains a distinguished academic career as a professor at various educational institutions. He has collaborated with Sergio Arboleda University and EAN University, as well as with specialized programs of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), where he trains patent drafters from across Latin America.
His professional career has been repeatedly recognized by some of the leading international legal directories specializing in the field, including Legal 500, Leaders League, and IAM Patent 1000. He is a member of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI) and has served as president of its Patent Committee and as a regular lecturer and professor in its patent courses.
With this appointment, ClarkeModet Colombia continues to consolidate a highly specialized multidisciplinary team in different areas of intellectual property practice, supporting innovative organizations in all stages of development, protection and exploitation of their intangible assets.
