Carey announced the strengthening of its antitrust and regulated markets team, led by partners Lorena Pavic and José Pardo, with the addition of María José Henríquez as senior counsel.
María José is a lawyer from the University of Chile and holds an LL.M. in Commercial Regulation and Antitrust from New York University (NYU) Law School, as well as a diploma in Regulation and Competition from the University of Chile. She has extensive experience in antitrust matters, complex litigation, and mergers. Between 2012 and 2016, she served as head of the Anti-Cartel Division of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, after having previously worked as an attorney for that institution. Since 2016, she has led the antitrust practice at Morales y Besa. From 2005 to 2008, she was an associate at Carey specializing in antitrust matters.
The addition of María José is part of the expansion and strengthening of a strategic group for Carey in a context of increasing regulatory complexity and an increasingly relevant role of law in business decision-making.
