Auren continues to strengthen its team with the appointment of Carlos Rivadulla as a partner at Auren Legal, specialising in intellectual property, technology and artificial intelligence.
A law graduate from the University of Barcelona, Rivadulla holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology and Intellectual Property from Columbia University in New York and has completed doctoral studies at the Open University of Catalonia. He brings more than 25 years’ experience, having worked at leading firms such as EY, Clifford Chance and, most recently, Écija, where he advised national and international companies on complex matters relating to intellectual property, technology and the digital economy.
He is also an arbitrator at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and has been selected as an expert for the AI Sandbox of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, contributing to the development of regulatory frameworks in emerging technological fields. In addition, he has served on the boards of Barcelona Activa and the Barcelona Institute of Technology.
Throughout his career, he has advised companies on strategic projects and represented clients in high-profile intellectual property cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union. He also brings a strong entrepreneurial perspective, having founded several start-ups, which enables him to offer a distinctive understanding of the innovation and technology ecosystem, in line with Auren’s philosophy of “entrepreneurs serving entrepreneurs”.
Alongside his professional practice, he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring, delivering courses at institutions including ISEM Fashion Business School (UNAV), IE University, Universidad Carlos III and ICAM, with a focus on training the next generation of lawyers.
