Andersen appointed its partner Pablo Gómez-Acebo as co-head of the Tax practice in Spain and Portugal, a position he will hold together with Borja de Gabriel, also a partner.
In this new role, Pablo Gómez-Acebo will co-lead a team of 108 professionals in Iberia, 24 of whom are partners. This appointment is part of Andersen’s strategy focused on the development and internal promotion of professionals with a strong track record and aligns with the firm’s policy of strengthening management capabilities within its practices and enhancing the specialization and technical depth of the advice offered by its departments to clients.
Along the same lines, Andersen appointed Federico Belausteguigoitia as co-director of M&A in February, along with Ivo Portabales.
On the occasion of this appointment, José Vicente Morote, managing partner of Andersen Iberia, highlighted that “Pablo is a highly skilled professional and a great partner, accustomed to working in a highly specialized and sophisticated environment. This appointment reflects our commitment to continue driving our development with strong teams capable of comprehensively addressing our clients’ needs, both nationally and internationally.” He also emphasized that “the Tax practice is one of our key areas and a fundamental pillar in advising our clients.” In fact, in 2025, this department achieved a turnover of over €19 million, a 26.6% increase over the previous year.
Pablo Gómez-Acebo has been part of Andersen since 2023 and has a solid specialization in tax advice and planning for national and international entities and operations in different sectors, as well as banking institutions.
Pablo Gómez-Acebo has indicated that from his new position he will focus on “advancing an even more integrated working model and strengthening our ability to support clients in an increasingly sophisticated and global tax environment.”
