The US firm Leech Tishman has appointed a new managing partner for its Miami-Fort Lauderdale office. The new partner is Chilean lawyer Esteban Elías.
The appointment comes eight months after Elias took over as head of Latin America Practice, and reflects the firm’s confidence in his leadership and the growth of the Latin American practice under his guidance.
In his new role, Elias will lead the management and development of the Miami/Fort Lauderdale office, primarily in terms of defining local priorities, coordinating the team and the various practice areas present in the office, and developing business in South Florida.
“I accept this new responsibility with great gratitude for the trust the firm has placed in me. These eight months leading the Latin America practice have allowed me to closely observe the opportunities that exist to continue connecting the region with the United States and, at the same time, better understand how we can contribute from Leech Tishman’s various capabilities,” said Esteban Elías, managing partner and head of Latin America Practice.
With over 20 years of experience in corporate, transactional and international matters between the United States and Latin America, Elias has developed his practice in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, growth finance, joint ventures, cross-border investments and processes of entry into the US market.
As head of Latin America Practice, Elías also directs Leech Tishman’s work with Latin American companies, investors, funds and family offices, coordinating, according to the particularities of each project, corporate, regulatory, immigration, labor, real estate, intellectual property and data protection matters, with the Miami/Fort Lauderdale office as the entry point for clients in the region.
Born in Chile, Elías is licensed to practice law in Florida, New York, Washington DC, and before the Supreme Court of Chile. He holds an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from American University Washington College of Law and was recognized by The Best Lawyers in America in Corporate Law for 2025 and 2026.
