Addleshaw Goddard promotes Gonzalo Fernández to partner in its corporate practice in Spain

The firm also promoted Victoria Ruenes and Cristina Esteban to counsel in the Corporate and Labor areas, respectively.

Addleshaw Goddard has announced the promotion of Gonzalo Fernández to partner in its Corporate/M&A practice in Spain. The appointment reinforces the firm’s organic growth strategy and strengthens its position in corporate and transactional advisory work.

Gonzalo Fernández has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations and strategic advice to national and international companies. During his career at the firm, he has been involved in highly complex transactions, distinguishing himself through his technical expertise, management capabilities and contribution to the development of the Corporate/M&A team.

Commenting on the appointment, Roberto Pomares, Managing Partner of Addleshaw Goddard in Spain, said: “Gonzalo’s promotion recognises his outstanding contribution to the firm, both technically and in terms of business development and team leadership. His work in key areas for the growth of our Corporate and Private Equity practices, together with his leadership skills and strategic vision, will be instrumental in strengthening our firm in Spain and consolidating our collaboration with other Addleshaw Goddard offices.”

Counsel promotions

Addleshaw Goddard has also approved the promotions of Victoria Ruenes and Cristina Esteban to Counsel in the Corporate and Employment practices, respectively.

Victoria Ruenes has built a strong track record in M&A transactions, corporate governance and general corporate advisory work, acting on complex matters for both domestic and international clients.

Cristina Esteban has extensive experience in employment law, with a particular focus on managing workplace relations across various sectors, corporate restructurings, collective bargaining and litigation.

For several years, Addleshaw Goddard Spain has pursued a clear organic growth model in which professional development and the retention of internal talent are central pillars of its culture. These promotions, at both Partner and Counsel level, recognise the dedication, excellence and commitment of these professionals to the firm’s long-term project.

With these appointments, Addleshaw Goddard further strengthens its structure in Spain and reinforces its position as one of the leading firms in the market. The Madrid office now comprises 16 partners, nine counsels and more than 70 lawyers.
