Ontier has added Emil Ruppert as a partner in its Peru office, where he will join the Corporate, M&A, and Mining practice. With this addition, the firm strengthens its ability to support local and international clients in complex corporate transactions and projects in the infrastructure and mining sectors, two of the driving forces of the Peruvian economy.
“The addition of Emil Ruppert is another step in our strategy to strengthen Ontier’s capabilities in key markets with top-tier professionals who combine in-depth local knowledge with a proven track record. Peru is a strategic market for our network, and Emil’s experience in corporate transactions, infrastructure, and mining—sectors that attract international investment—allows us to support clients who invest and operate in, from, and to the country with a more comprehensive and coordinated response across offices,” said Javier Muñoz, International Director of Ontier.
For his part, Enrique Dupuy, managing partner of Ontier Peru, emphasized that “Ruppert is one of the leading figures in corporate law in Peru. Few lawyers can say they participated in drafting the General Corporations Law and, at the same time, have led top-tier transactions in mining and infrastructure for decades. His addition elevates our transactional practice and generates immediate synergies with the areas we have strengthened this year, placing us in a very strong position to support our clients in major transactions in the country.”
More from the new partner
Emil Ruppert has nearly 40 years of experience leading and structuring mergers and acquisitions, securities transactions, concessions, and project finance related to the infrastructure and mining sectors. His practice has focused on corporate, contract, and mining law, and leading international legal boards have recognized his work in corporate and finance matters.
Before joining Ontier, Emil Ruppert was a partner for many years in the Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate & Contractual, and Mining practices at Rubio Leguía Normand, one of the leading law firms in the Peruvian market. He was a member of the commission that drafted Peru’s General Corporations Law and has taught Commercial Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and Corporate Law at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. He holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and completed his legal education at Georgetown University Law School and the University of Houston Law Center.
This addition complements Ontier Peru’s recent growth in areas closely linked to transactional activity, such as Finance and Regulatory. The team will work in close coordination with the other practices in the Lima office and with the firm’s various regional offices, supporting clients in structuring their investments and transactions in, from, and to Peru.
With this appointment, Ontier adds seven new partners in one year across various offices in Latin America, Spain and the Middle East, as part of its international growth strategy
