Ecija consolidates its leadership in legal innovation with two awards at the Legal Geek Leaders in Tech Law Awards 2026

By Heidi Maldonado

Ecija has been recognized with two awards at the Legal Geek Leaders in Tech Law Awards 2026, held in London, consolidating its position among the firms that are leading the technological transformation of the legal sector internationally.

The firm has won the Regulatory, Governance & Compliance Technology award for an artificial intelligence project applied to the transformation of corporate governance, and Alejandro Touriño, CEO of Ecija, has received the Lifetime Contribution to Innovation award, which recognizes his career and contribution to the innovation and evolution of legal services.

The double recognition rewards two dimensions of the same commitment: Ecija’s ability to turn innovation into concrete solutions for its clients and a trajectory marked by the constant questioning of traditional models of legal service provision.

The winning project in the Regulatory, Governance & Compliance Technology category applies artificial intelligence to the transformation of the corporate secretariat, rethinking highly complex legal and governance processes to move towards more efficient, intelligent and scalable models.

For his part, the recognition of Alejandro Touriño highlights a professional career closely linked to the transformation of Ecija.

“For us, innovation has never been an option, but an opportunity: an opportunity to differentiate ourselves, challenge the status quo, and build a better firm for our clients. Technology changes, markets change, and our clients change; we have to change with them,” Touriño noted.

For the CEO of Ecija, the new cycle opened by artificial intelligence is forcing the sector to rethink its models: “AI challenges our way of working and forces us to rethink what it means to be a lawyer, but it also represents a huge opportunity to create more value and do things better. The biggest risk is not change; it’s standing still.”

The double recognition reinforces Ecija’s position as a firm that has made innovation a hallmark, betting on technology and artificial intelligence not only to improve efficiency, but also to transform traditional models of legal service delivery and generate new ways of adding value to its clients.

With these awards, Ecija consolidates its international projection and reaffirms its commitment to a more innovative, technological and prepared legal profession for the challenges of the future.
