TozziniFreire announced the addition of Rubens Granja and Natássia Misae Ueno as new partners in the Life Sciences and Healthcare practice. Rubens will become head of the practice, which is currently experiencing growth at the firm.

Recognized for his work before ANVISA, ANS and MAPA, Rubens has extensive experience advising national and international companies on regulatory, contractual, litigation and strategic issues related to the human health, animal, biotechnology, food and agribusiness sectors.
Natássia brings enormous value to regulatory and administrative litigation matters before oversight bodies in the areas of health and agribusiness, as well as public tenders and contracts promoted in all government spheres.
The new members join our partner Victor Hugo Avallone, with recognized experience in the area, which was already registering growth driven by the increase in regulatory complexity, technological advances and the digitization of businesses.
About Rubens Farm
Rubens Granja is head of the Life Sciences practice at TozziniFreire. With over 20 years of experience, he handles matters related to products and services regulated by the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA), the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS), and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), advising domestic and international companies in the health and life sciences sectors on issues at the intersection of regulation and business, including market access, clinical research, public procurement, contracts, and strategic transactions.
His practice encompasses regulatory law, public tenders and contracts, civil liability, and consumer law, with a focus on the human health, animal health, and agribusiness sectors. Between 2015 and 2019, he was president of the Health Law Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) and currently serves on the Healthcare and Life Sciences Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA).
Rubens holds a law degree from the University of São Paulo (USP), a specialization in Civil Liability from the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), a master’s degree in Law, Science and Technology from Stanford University, a master’s degree in Civil Law from USP, and a doctorate in Civil Law from the same institution.

Natássia Misae Ueno has a solid track record in regulatory, contractual, and administrative litigation matters within the jurisdiction of ANVISA, ANS, MAPA, and other oversight bodies in the health and agribusiness sectors, as well as in public tenders and contracts at all levels of government. She is particularly noted for her work on cases related to innovative public procurement.
She is a graduate in Law from the Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, a postgraduate in Administrative Law from the Pontificia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) and a master in Public Law from the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-SP).
