Mattos Filho strengthens the Infrastructure and Arbitration area with the arrival of Caio Gabra

By Heidi Maldonado

Mattos Filho announced the addition of Caio Gabra as a partner in the Infrastructure and Energy, and Litigation and Arbitration areas. With a strong track record in infrastructure, energy, construction, and dispute resolution projects in Brazil and abroad, Gabra will strengthen the firm’s performance at a time of growth in the infrastructure sector and increased demand for comprehensive advice on strategic projects and arbitration.

“Caio’s appointment addresses a need in the infrastructure sector and aligns with our strategy of continuously strengthening key positions. His arrival enhances our ability to advise clients on complex issues requiring in-depth industry knowledge, international experience, and integrated collaboration with other areas of the firm,” said Pedro Whitaker de Souza Dias , managing partner of the firm.

“Returning to Mattos Filho represents an opportunity to contribute to practices recognized for their work on some of the most relevant projects and litigation in the market. My intention is to combine the experience I have acquired in Brazil and internationally to support clients throughout the entire lifecycle of their projects and further strengthen the firm’s overall performance,” Caio Gabra emphasized.

More from the new partner

Gabra was a lawyer at Mattos Filho for six years, until 2023, when he began working in the Middle East. There he consolidated a significant part of his professional career, advising on infrastructure projects globally, including in the Middle East, the United States, and Europe. This experience broadened his knowledge of complex contractual structures, risk management, and dispute resolution related to strategic projects.

Gabra holds a law degree from UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and a master’s degree in International Economic Law from Stanford Law School.

With the addition of Caio, the firm now has 143 partners.
