DHH Law Firm, the Beijing-based parent company of Deheng Law Group, has established a presence in Mexico through an alliance with the local firm Gonzalez Rodriguez Abogados (GRA). The operation is structured around two locations—Monterrey, where the main office is located, and Mexico City—under a single legal entity.
At the helm of the new firm, named GRA DHH Abogados, are Luis González Sánchez and Héctor Rodríguez Ramírez, who previously held positions at GRA as heads of transactional-corporate and litigation practices, respectively. The model does not involve opening a new DHH office in Mexico, but rather integrating with an existing local team that already has a client base and a proven track record in the market.
González Sánchez focuses the new practice on cross-border corporate structuring, foreign direct investment, M&A, and international tax planning, with regulatory compliance and labor law as complementary areas of expertise, in addition to arbitration and litigation in various fields. He identifies his target clients as international investors and manufacturers arriving in Mexico, largely driven by nearshoring, along with Mexican companies.
Rodríguez Ramírez, focused on litigation, injunctions, regulatory compliance and money laundering prevention, envisions the operation as a way to build a stable legal corridor between China, Mexico and the rest of Latin America, combining the presence in Monterrey and Mexico City with the international network of DHH.
The new offices expand DHH’s existing international presence in the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, and Japan. Mexico thus joins the network connecting China with key investment hubs in North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
