Monereo Meyer Abogados continues to strengthen its presence in Spain with the addition of two new lawyers to its team and the relocation of its Tenerife office to a new headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, from where it will continue to provide legal advice to national and international companies and investors.
The Canary Islands office, co-led by partners Stefan Meyer and Gustavo Yanes, is embarking on a new phase with offices in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, one of the archipelago’s financial and administrative centers. The move reflects the firm’s growth in recent years and will allow them to offer even more personalized service to businesses, investors, high-net-worth individuals, and private clients.
This decision coincides with a context of growing economic appeal for the archipelago. According to data from the Canary Islands Statistics Institute (ISTAC), the Canary Islands attracted €327 million in foreign direct investment in 2025, consolidating a positive trend in the arrival of international business projects.
In this context, Natalia Hernández Encinoso joins the Santa Cruz de Tenerife office as a senior associate to strengthen the firm’s corporate and real estate legal advisory services. A practicing lawyer since 2014, she has developed her professional career advising companies both in law firms and in international corporate environments. Her experience encompasses commercial, contractual, and real estate law, as well as providing legal support in transactions with an international component. She also serves on the boards of several multinational companies, advising their management bodies on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and corporate management.
For his part, Nicolás Melchior Cruz also joins the Madrid office as a senior associate. With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in real estate, urban planning, land management, construction, and contract law. Throughout his career, he has advised developers, investors, property owners, and construction companies on large-scale real estate transactions, urban developments, and investment projects. His fluency in German, in addition to Spanish, English, and French, strengthens the firm’s ability to advise international clients, particularly those in German-speaking countries.
Stefan Meyer, partner and co-director of the Canary Islands office, stated that “the addition of Natalia and Nicolás is part of the firm’s sustained growth strategy. We are combining greater knowledge of the local market with a strengthening of our international capabilities to continue advising Spanish and foreign companies and investors developing projects in the Canary Islands and the rest of the country.”
For his part, Gustavo Yanes, partner and co-director of the Canary Islands office, pointed out that “it is true that the interest of international companies in establishing themselves in the Canary Islands continues to grow, but, beyond that, sound tax advice for the Canary Islands business community is essential to safeguard the competitiveness of our companies. Tools such as the Canary Islands Special Zone (ZEC), the Canary Islands Investment Reserve (RIC), enhanced R&D&I incentives, and investment deductions, along with the legal certainty that comes with belonging to the European single market and the archipelago’s strategic position, make the islands a very attractive destination for both national and international investment projects. Furthermore, our firm has a top-tier tax litigation department, which will help business owners and high-net-worth individuals in the Canary Islands to protect their interests with the Tax Authorities.”
With offices in Madrid, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Lisbon, Monereo Meyer Abogados provides comprehensive legal advice to national and international companies and has a distinguished track record in supporting German companies with interests in Spain and Portugal.
