José Luis Pérez-Campoamor, from CMS, joins KPMG Abogados as a new partner in the Regulatory, Administrative and Competition area

KPMG Abogados has announced the addition of José Luis Pérez-Campoamor as a new partner in the Regulatory, Administrative and Competition area, boosting its position as a leading firm in advising on administrative law and regulated sectors.

In the words of Alberto Estrelles, managing partner of KPMG Abogados, “José Luis brings particularly valuable experience in highly complex regulatory environments, where legal and strategic aspects are increasingly interconnected. His arrival strengthens our ability to address these types of challenges with a comprehensive approach.”

José Luis Pérez-Campoamor has a solid professional track record of more than 20 years, advising on administrative law, with a special focus on M&A and financing operations in regulated sectors such as energy, infrastructure, defense, transport, telecommunications and the environment, among others.

Coming from CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, where he served as counsel in the Public Law and Regulated Sectors department, he has also developed his career in international firms such as Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance, combining his experience in the field of consultative advice with legal direction in administrative and contentious-administrative proceedings.

Throughout his career, he has been involved in highly complex matters, advising some of the market’s leading players on regulatory issues, public procurement, and assisting them in administrative litigation. He also has extensive experience advising companies on regulatory projects, corporate transactions, and sanctioning proceedings, combining strong technical expertise with a practical, business-oriented approach.

He holds a Law degree from the Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE) and has completed specialized training in administrative contracting, public-private collaboration and the environment, having also completed doctoral courses in Public Law.

In the field of teaching, he has collaborated in postgraduate courses with various public and private institutions, such as the Pontifical University of Comillas (ICADE), the Carlos III University, the Energy Club, the Autonomous University and ESADE.

With this addition, KPMG Abogados continues to advance its growth and consolidation strategy in key areas, reinforcing its value proposition to support its clients in complex and highly specialized regulatory environments.
