Harvey, a platform for legal and professional services, announced the opening of its Madrid office to serve clients in Spain and Portugal. This expansion reinforces the company’s investment in one of Europe’s most sophisticated legal markets and is the result of more than two years of active collaboration with leading law firms, companies, and academic institutions in the Iberian Peninsula.

Harvey is entering the legal markets of Spain and Portugal due to the precision, coordination, and unique complexity of the legal framework that characterizes the region, where transactions often involve multiple stakeholders, institutions, and legal regimes operating in parallel.

“We didn’t enter this market from scratch. We’ve been there before,” said Jorge Bestard, Vice President of Sales for EMEA at Harvey. “That’s why we created Harvey with direct access to Portuguese and Spanish legislation, local content integrated into workflows, and agents who manage those workflows from start to finish. We’re here to help lawyers spend less time on routine tasks so they can focus on litigation, strategy, and collaboration,” he stated.

“Long-range agents can now perform complex tasks that previously took lawyers days,” said Omar Puertas, legal innovation partner at Harvey. “This allows lawyers to focus on what they do best: exercising their judgment, advising clients, and determining outcomes,” he noted.

Harvey has already established partnerships with some of the most respected law firms and companies in the region, including Cuatrecasas, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, PwC Spain, PLMJ, Vieira de Almeida, B. Cremades & Asociados, and the in-house legal teams of Carrefour and Repsol.

The company also expanded its Harvey Law Schools program to Spain through partnerships with IE Law School, Esade Law School, and ICADE. The program helps law students become familiar with AI specific to their field, acquire practical skills, and prepare for a successful legal career.
