It is the first Ibero-American firm resulting from the merger of the Chilean firm Philippi, Yrarrázaval, Pulido & Brunner, the Colombian firm Prietocarrizosa, and the Peruvian firms Ferrero Abogados and Delmar Ugarte. Additionally, Uría Menéndez, a renowned Hispano-Portuguese firm, has been part of the firm since its creation in 2015.
The firm seeks to efficiently address the new demands for professional services arising from the growing economic interrelation among the countries that make up the Pacific Alliance (Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru), combined with the increasing interest of companies from Europe and North America in the Latin American region.
It operates under the “single firm” model, exceeding 380 lawyers in the region. It maintains its own offices in Santiago (Chile); Bogotá and Barranquilla (Colombia); and Lima (Peru). To this network are added the global financial centers provided by the Uría Menéndez network: Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Porto, London, New York, and Brussels.
PPU is integrated into elite international networks such as World Law Group and SCG Legal, both of which expand its operational reach worldwide, ensuring unified support for complex multijurisdictional transactions.
PPU’s governance places technological modernization and social impact as key guidelines of its professional practice under sustainability and ethical criteria. On one hand, it optimizes efficiency through advanced LegalTech tools, internal process automation, and rigorous cybersecurity protocols for data protection. On the other hand, it promotes social responsibility through structured Pro Bono programs that provide free legal advice to foundations, social development projects, and actively promote gender equity.
