Elzaburu grows by 3% and reaches revenues of 28 million euros in 2025

The Legal area grew by 18%, while Media & Entertainment experienced a 169% increase in the number of projects managed

Elzaburu closed 2025 with revenues of €28 million, 3% more than the previous year. 80.3% of revenue came from Europe, 10.8% from the Americas, and 8.9% from the rest of the world.

46% of its client portfolio are Spanish companies, including 40% of the companies listed on the IBEX 35. Currently, the firm manages a portfolio of more than 60,000 brands and has solid litigation experience, with more than 1,600 lawsuits handled throughout its history.

By area, Trademarks grew by 2%, Patents by 5%, and Legal by 18%, representing 42.5%, 38.7%, and 18.8% of revenue, respectively. The strong performance of the Media & Entertainment area stands out, managing more than 860 audiovisual and performing arts projects, 169% more than the previous year; mobilizing €18.2 million in tax investment in cultural projects, a 73% increase.

According to Alfonso Diez de Rivera Elzaburu, president of the firm, “during the past year, in which we celebrated our 160th anniversary, we have consolidated our activity in Trademarks and Patents, which represent 80% of our turnover, while we have registered outstanding growth in the Legal area and a very significant advance in Media & Entertainment.

According to Mabel Klimt, managing partner of the firm, “in this year, marked by the irruption of AI in all areas of society, we have demonstrated a solid capacity for adaptation, promoting services that combine innovation, multidisciplinary talent and a deep understanding of the client’s needs in the management of intangibles, with the aim of offering a close and truly differentiated legal proposal.”

Only Spanish firm referenced in Band 1 in Patent & Trademark Agents

The firm is the only Spanish firm referenced in Band 1 in the Patent & Trade Mark Agents category by Chambers & Partners Europe, and more than 60% of its professionals have been recognized in international rankings and directories throughout the year, reflecting the technical consistency of the team and its recognition in the market.

Elzaburu has over 150 professionals, including 44 lawyers, 14 technical staff, 13 European trademark agents, 15 IP agents, 10 European patent agents, and 3 WIPO arbitrators. Women comprise 30% of the partners and 57% of the corporate management positions, representing 74% of the staff. The average age of the team is 45, and the average tenure with the firm is 16 years.
