Ecix, a leading firm in regulatory risk management, privacy solutions, compliance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and legal operations, is strengthening its Cybersecurity division – one of the firm’s most strategically significant growth areas – with the appointment of David Ferrete as Partner.
With nine years at Ecix, Ferrete previously served as Director of the Cybersecurity division, leading teams and projects focused on the protection of information, processes and people, with an approach combining prevention, detection and incident response. As Partner, he will continue to lead this division, focusing primarily on Cybersecurity, Cyber Compliance and Cyber Intelligence, covering regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, DORA, RIA and the ENS, in addition to incident support and alignment with international cybersecurity standards, among other areas.
Leading a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, analysts, engineers and specialists, he has established himself as an expert in the protection of intangible assets and in translating regulatory frameworks into operational governance and control models. His work helps organisations connect technology with corporate governance, so that security becomes a shared value across the whole organisation. According to Ecix, his promotion reflects both his professional development and the company’s ongoing commitment to internal talent and to profiles with the capacity to grow in key areas.
Beyond his professional work, he maintains close ties with the cybersecurity and regulatory compliance sector, taking part in industry associations, academic activities, forums and projects aimed at continuously improving organisations’ digital resilience.
Ferrete comments: “It is a great source of pride for me to take this step at Ecix, the firm where I have grown professionally over all these years. I approach this new stage with the same enthusiasm I had when I started, and with the same commitment to helping our clients protect what matters most to them, in an increasingly demanding cybersecurity environment shaped by the entry into force of regulations such as NIS2 and DORA.”
“This appointment fills us with pride. David has been with us for a long time, has grown alongside the firm, and today he is taking a step that reflects exactly what we want for the firm: for talented professionals committed to the Ecix project to keep growing,” says Carlos Alberto Sáiz Peña, Vice President of Ecix Group. With this appointment, the firm reinforces its commitment to cybersecurity understood not only as a technological matter, but as an element of corporate governance.
The promotion forms part of the firm’s organic growth strategy, within the 2025-2027 strategic plan and the On Air plan, and reflects Ecix’s commitment to developing internal talent.
