Devesa renews its support for Art Madrid ’26 and will present an acquisition prize

By Heidi Maldonado

Devesa, a nationwide business law firm, has renewed its support for Art Madrid ’26, where it will present an acquisition prize. The winning work will become part of the firm’s private collection. This initiative reflects Devesa’s commitment to contemporary art and to providing comprehensive advice to collectors, artists, foundations and other stakeholders within the art world.

Devesa’s presence at Art Madrid ’26 underscores its expertise in optimising collectors’ artistic legacies, both in the context of succession planning and through the creation of foundation structures. The firm advises from a cross-disciplinary perspective that integrates tax, corporate and private client law, enabling the design of efficient solutions for the preservation and transfer of private collections.

This multidisciplinary approach is further strengthened by the firm’s strategic alliance with art law specialist Ana Suárez and with Art Value. This collaboration allows Devesa to address key issues such as the authentication, valuation and professional management of works of art — essential elements in ensuring legal certainty and tax efficiency in transactions involving artistic heritage.

Art Madrid will hold its 21st edition from 4 to 8 March 2026 at the Crystal Gallery of the Palacio de Cibeles, consolidating its position as one of the leading events of Madrid Art Week. The fair will bring together 35 national and international galleries and showcase a broad selection of contemporary art, ranging from emerging artists to established names.

With more than two decades of history and over 150,000 visitors across its most recent editions, Art Madrid has established itself as a key platform for the art market and for collecting, fostering dialogue between different contemporary practices and facilitating public access to the latest artistic trends.

Devesa’s initiative reinforces its position as a firm specialising in advising on complex estates and major collections, highlighting the growing intersection between the legal profession and the cultural ecosystem, where careful legal and tax planning is essential to preserving the long-term economic and symbolic value of art.
