EY Colombia announced the appointment of Daniel Martínez Fajardo as leader of Tax Litigation and Disputes in the country, a position from which he will promote the strategic development of the practice and the comprehensive management of tax risks for national and multinational companies.
Martínez Fajardo joined EY in 2023 as a partner in EY Law. Since then, he has assisted companies in various sectors in resolving complex tax matters—including constitutional, annulment, and transfer pricing proceedings—responding to requests from tax authorities, and structuring defense strategies in administrative and judicial proceedings.
Daniel leads a team of more than 35 professionals and a portfolio of more than 600 tax processes under management.
Lawyer and public accountant, specializing in Commercial, Tax and International Tax Law, has extensive experience in representing taxpayers before the National Directorate of Taxes and Customs (DIAN), territorial administrations and highly complex jurisdictions.
Prior to joining EY, he led the Tax Litigation and Disputes practice for Colombia and the Andean Region at another global professional services firm. He also served as a magistrate’s assistant at the Administrative Court of Valle and as legal director at a firm specializing in legal and tax advice.

In addition to his professional practice, Martínez Fajardo has contributed to the development of the profession as a university professor, lecturer, and author of specialized publications. Throughout his career, he has participated in undergraduate and graduate academic programs at various universities across the country and is a frequent guest speaker at conferences, business forums, and professional association events.
