Cuatrecasas strengthens its Public Law practice by adding Tiago Amorim as a partner in its Porto office

Cuatrecasas strengthens its Porto office and Public Law practice with the addition of Tiago Amorim, a lawyer with thirty years of experience, as a partner. This appointment reinforces Cuatrecasas' commitment to this practice area and strengthens the firm's expansion in Portugal.

Tiago Amorim practices primarily in the area of Administrative Law. Over the past few decades, he has been involved in some of the country's most emblematic and complex public-private partnership projects. In the northern region, he is one of the most renowned lawyers in this field.

In the field of litigation, he has acted as a representative in various arbitration proceedings, on several occasions serving as an arbitrator.

In addition, he has combined his legal practice with academic life at different times, participating as a teacher in seminars and postgraduate programs at the Nova University of Lisbon, the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) — Porto School (EP) and the University of Porto.

About Tiago Amorim

With 30 years of experience, he primarily practices in the area of Administrative Law. Over the past few decades, he has participated in some of the country's most emblematic and complex public-private partnership projects. In the field of litigation, he has acted as a defense attorney in various arbitration proceedings, serving as an arbitrator on several occasions. He has also combined his legal practice with academic pursuits at different times, participating as a lecturer in seminars and postgraduate courses at Nova University of Lisbon, the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) – Porto School (EP), and the University of Porto.

Tiago Amorim emphasizes: “This appointment represents a return ‘home,’ as I joined Gonçalves Pereira, Castelo Branco & Associados, which later established an agreement with Cuatrecasas. I am returning to a firm that has evolved considerably, becoming much more international, with the ambition of contributing, with my experience, to the growth of the Public Law practice area and the Porto office in general.”

Meanwhile, the new partner stated that his arrival “represents a homecoming, since in 1998 I joined Gonçalves Pereira, Castelo Branco & Associados, which later established an agreement with Cuatrecasas.”
