CMS has achieved a global turnover of 2.173 billion euros during the 2025 financial year, representing a growth of 4.8% compared to the previous year and consolidating its position as one of the leading international legal services networks.
These results reflect the strong performance across numerous practice areas and sectors, as well as CMS’s ability to support its clients in an increasingly complex and international business environment. The Corporate/M&A practice was the primary driver of growth in 2025, along with other solid practices such as Litigation and Arbitration, Tax, Labor, and Banking & Finance.
For Pierre-Sébastien Thill, Chairman of CMS, this sustained growth reflects the trust that CMS’s clients place in it and the commitment of all its professionals. “Their focus on service excellence is an essential element of the value we deliver, and the steady increase in our revenue confirms that we continue to respond to the evolving needs of the legal market,” he stated.
Strategy and international expansion
During 2025, CMS reviewed its global strategy with the aim of defining its priorities for the coming years, strengthening long-term relationships with its clients and continuing to adapt to the transformations of the international legal market.
Furthermore, the organization continued to expand its global presence with the addition of INDUSLAW, one of India’s leading law firms, as a new member firm of CMS, thus reinforcing its position in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.
Innovation at the service of customers
CMS continued to advance its innovation strategy by globally expanding the use of Harvey , a generative artificial intelligence platform designed specifically for the legal sector and now available to more than 7,000 CMS lawyers and support professionals in more than 50 countries.
Isabel Scholes, Executive Director of CMS, points out that “generative artificial intelligence represents an opportunity to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of our professionals, allowing us to offer greater added value to clients and contribute to the transformation of legal services.”
Spain strengthens its international projection and strategic capabilities
For its part, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has strengthened its presence within the international organization during the last year, aligning its growth with CMS’s strategic priorities at a global level.
In this context, the appointment of Javier Colino , partner in the Real Estate practice at CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, as Global Head of the CMS Hospitality, Travel & Leisure Group, comprised of specialists from the organization’s various member firms, is particularly noteworthy. His appointment reinforces the leading role of the Spanish office in one of CMS’s strategic sectors internationally.
Furthermore, the firm has recently launched its Ibero-American Arbitration Group , a cross-cutting initiative that brings together professionals from different areas with the aim of offering a comprehensive approach to the resolution of complex disputes, a practice of growing relevance for companies and investors in an increasingly internationalized environment.
This development has been accompanied by the addition of new partners in strategic areas for the firm. In recent months, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has brought on board Álvaro Seijo Bar to lead the Intellectual Property, Industrial Property and Intangibles practice and Joaquín Fernández Moya as a partner in the Insurance area, thus reinforcing its commitment to highly specialized advice and growth in key practices for its clients.
